Latest Updates from Our Project:

Dungeon Randomizer, More Relics, More Riddles, Last Week!
3 months ago – Tue, Sep 24, 2024 at 12:49:14 PM

With 1 week to go, we're up to 440% funding, closing in on 3000 backers, and more stretch goals on the horizon! Hurray for all of these things.

On today's dev stream, we talked about the newly unlocked Dungeon Randomizer, showed a couple relics, and went over Riddle answers:

Dungeon Randomizer

This is a fun stretch goal! When I initially thought of the concept, I thought it would develop out as fragmented floors - one floor from one dungeon, a second from another, etc. Turns out, that sounds better than it is in practice. Did not work well - instead, we're randomizing what's *in* each dungeon, so it's turned out a bit more as Dungeon Variants, but it's still a cool concept. Each copy of the Abyssal Trove will have a pack of dungeon cards, all of which are varied alternate versions of existing dungeons. When selecting the Yeti's Cavern, you'll randomly choose one of the three versions of it (tentatively titled A B C, but that will likely change)

As you can see, there're similar concepts but different boxes and modified effects. But it's not just the dungeon that's changed the boss is different as well! There's lots of balancing work to be done here, but we think you'll have fun enjoying even more ways to play Dungeon with now up to 50 different dungeon/boss cards!

Relics

We also are testing two more relics this week, the Map of Destiny, and the Obsidian Hammer. The Hammer is a low-complexity relic, with a simple spend stuff/get stuff economy. It's important to have these in Relics, especially for players coming to it as a first-ever Dungeon set. We want to have a good mix of complexity levels. The Map of Destiny is definitely on the higher complexity side. It plays around with how doors and exploration work.

Riddle #9 Solution

Riddle 9's foxy premise was months of the year! Each of the words in the answer options started with the same letter as one of the months on your modern day calendar, and they were organized into trios. JFM goes with January, February, March, and was the correct answer.  Good luck on Riddle #10!

Dungeon Update: Foxfire bonus hero / crossover! Riddle answers! 200K Funding! More exclamation points!!
3 months ago – Wed, Sep 18, 2024 at 12:17:40 PM

Hello and greetings! We are 2 weeks away from the conclusion of our funding campaign for One Deck Dungeon: Relics of the Forge, and the new Vault box set, and we have some fun news to share. This update is going out to our full subscriber list on BackerKit to share said fun news.

First off, we've crossed 400% funded at $200K overall. That's super cool! Thank you to each and every person who's already backed, and we're excited to see more people come in as the campaign draws to a conclusion.

Secondly, Our good friends over at Floral Frolic are also running a BackerKit campaign which just launched, and we're doing a crossover with them. That crossover is Foxfire:

She is our latest promo hero, and will be included in every copy of the Abyssal Trove (or the Vault, which includes the Trove). As our crossover promotion, you can get a pin of her in fox-form if you back both our campaign and theirs:

Floral Frolic are our illustration partners for Good Puppers, much of 1001 Odysseys, and some secret upcoming projects we'll announce sometime :)  Their campaign is for some cool plushies and pins. It just launched. Please take a peek at their campaign, they're great people and if you have a need for plushies for yourself or a gift, they're really cute:

Today's Stream

If you missed it, we just posted our VOD of today's stream, which includes testing of the Foxfire hero and some new relic tweaks. Our next stream will be Monday.

Relic Riddle #8 Answer

This one...was a tricky one. Less than a quarter of people got it right!

Each of the characters was hiding a number inside, reflecting their total HP. At a glance, if you didn't see the TY in tycoon, you might have thought he only had nine HP, but he is much stronger than that!

Riddle #9 is open, and is Fox themed, it will be open until our next stream on Monday.

Dev Stream (new relics!), Relic Riddle 8 is out, Exciting News Tuesday!
3 months ago – Fri, Sep 13, 2024 at 11:37:30 AM

Hey friends, we just wrapped up today's Dev stream, the recording is available here:

Here are the two new relics we showed off during the stream:

Riddle #7 Answer

The trick for riddle 7 was to take just the odd letters (every other letter) from each of these objects - the correct answer spelled out Genie's Lamp, which grants three wishes!

Riddle #8 is open now, linked at the bottom of this update. It's a sneaky one! Remember to check your assumptions, and your work :)

Announcement Tuesday!

We'll be doing another stream on Tuesday at 2PM Eastern, wherein something Neat will be announced. We think you'll like it, and we are excited to show it off!

Riddle #6 Answer / #7 Released - Streams Update (Friday at 1!)
3 months ago – Mon, Sep 09, 2024 at 01:35:02 PM

After an annoying afternoon, I have fixed the camera problems. Sorry we weren't able to stream today, but everything is now properly updated!

We will have an hour-long stream scheduled for Friday Sept 13 at 1PM Eastern (at twitch.tv/asmadigames as usual), which will be followed by a fun event - a listening party for the One Deck Galaxy soundtrack release, on our digital partner's channel, twitch.tv/handelabragames at 2PM.

Join for either, or both!

Meanwhile, Riddle 6 wrapped up:

The trick here, which was hinted as usual by the question, was morse code! If you look at all the punctuation in each of the answers, they're dashes and dots. The code for each corresponds to S-Tier, B, C, and D. I had to rewrite this one several times! First, because the cluing wasn't enough. Then, when I went to input it, the answer phrases were *too long*, so I had to trim them down quite a bit.

Riddle #7 is attached, and will be open until the stream on Friday.

We're creeping up on 200K and just passed 2500 backers! Hurray on both counts :D

Thanks again to each of you for your support, we're excited to make more cool Dungeon content.

Stretch Goal Hero Unlocked! Riddle #5 Answer / #6 Released
3 months ago – Thu, Sep 05, 2024 at 07:22:28 AM

Hello friends! I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend / PAX / Random September Weekend depending on where you are in the world. And, if you're on Brumigum, I wish a very happy Flowerwalk day to you!

We've all been a bit busy for the past week with our various travel and adventures, and we'll be back to full operations next week. We've got two streams planned: Monday Sept 9 and Friday Sept 13, both at 2PM Eastern. Next week's streams will be back to playtesting, so if you'd like to see more live play of the expansion and the evolution of heroes, relics, and encounters, tune in!

Riddle #5 Solution:

This one a lot of you got! Good work :)

Each of the four foes "held" an item, which you could find by removing the gap between the two words. The Drake Youngling's KEY was indeed the way out of the locked room...unless you threw an Anvil really hard at the door, but don't do that. Anvil toss is not OSHA Dungeon Compliant.

Stretch Goal: +1 Hero!

We've reached three stretch goals so far, adding 2 Relics and 1 Hero to the game. These are indeed not designed yet! We do have a very preliminary couple sketches to show you of the Hero concept - she's inspired a bit by olympians, and in specific...the shotput! This muscular magical hero has a cache of fiery meteors that she summons and throws at foes. Believe me, you do not want to get hit by a fiery meteor.

I'm working on her gameplay design now, and we may have something to share during next week's streams.

The bonus relics to be added depend on the Relic Riddles! With +2 unlocked, the top 3 teams now will see their relic make it into the game.

Happy Thursday, everyone, and have a fun weekend ahead. Relic Riddle #6 is now open, and it's a toughie! Good luck with it :)
